It is a two hour weekly class providing a multi-skilled training ground for all areas within the performing arts. These performance skills are our priority, providing encouragement to develop in all main disciplines; Drama, Singing and Dance.
These skills enable students to gain self confidence and self esteem. Performances regularly take place, giving all students opportunities to showcase a full range of these performance skills, from Musical Theatre/Straight Plays/Concerts to Drama Workshops.
Students are taught in small groups by professional tutors. Banjos is a group with a growing reputation of success. Many of our young members take part in shows with our own main society, and outside.

I am really pleased with the enthusiasm of our five self elected soloists this term. Everyone in this catagory has worked on their songs and is taking on board advice on projection/interpretation/placement of voice. Well done!

Well “hello” to all who have taken a little look at what we are up to.
Banjos is a Theatre Class for the Young ‘Uns-9 to 15 yrs ish, and we are very proud of what we have to offer. The kids are fab and have achieved a great deal over the last 6 yrs, and to take the project onto a new level, we are increasing the tutors that come and visit. The first session this year is on September 23rd at the Institute as usual and if you have an inclination to join, just come along and see what we do.
